NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender in the world by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. He would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people kill his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes errors every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
