No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender in the world by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the detrimental feedback from others destroy his goal of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

He started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning period and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal passion for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Even though Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
