The value of Poker Seating
Hold’em is all about players and position. All experienced Texas Holdem players concur that position in no cutoff Texas Hold’em is fundamentally important. Playing your hole cards in late spot might be certainly more profitable than in starting poker position. This is because much more information is assembled prior to acting.
i.e., I played in a $1-$2 no limit money round at a local casino. I bumbled in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier button, so I could see a bit of action. Flop arrived A-A-4. A gambler in starting position laid a fifteen dollar wager. 2 players fold and it was my turn. I should have folded, but his play appear to be a bit odd. I ID’d this guy as a weak-tight player, and regularly if he held the best hand he would just check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My opposer placed an additional bet of $20. I debated a bit, but made a decision to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars over and above his $20. He dropped out and I take the cash.
Playing late position provides you an idea where you sit by observing how other enthusiasts behave and bet. On the flip side, enthusiasts at early spot could use their poker spot to check-raise the late seated antagonists and corner them later at the end. In Holdem, each ends, late and early should be wagered carefully.
