No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from others kill his dream of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

He started competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
