No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about poker. He would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his dream of being one of the best poker players in the world.

He started competing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning period and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
