NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player in the world by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse comments from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

He started playing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an undying passion for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors in each game of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
